Watercolor Polaroid SOTM Card Happy Monday, Stampin' Friends! I had a little fun with my watercolors today for the new sketch over atAtlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I masked off the edges on the top of my card with washi tape and stamped on one of the camera images using second generation Lagoon Ink. Then I went back in with full Lagoon ink to add the CLICK! sentiment. When I peeled off the washi it had preserved that nice crisp white edge around my card. I stamped the Polaroid onto some watercolor paper and filled in the photo with my watercolor paints. I free handed the heart image in the center, choosing to blend some green and yellow watercolors to get the right green to go along with this week's Color Throwdown challenge. When it dried then I stamped the sentiment over the top with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Mixing & Matching Magic by Close To My Heart Each Close To My Heart paper packet has its own theme, feel, and color scheme, which makes creating cohesive artwork a breeze! But at its heart, each packet is made up of beautiful, individual patterned papers that can be used together in all kinds of combinations. Today we’re going to expand your horizon, invite you to try something new, get you out of your comfort zone, and all that jazz—because we’re going to share you with you three different approaches to mixing our paper packets together! This card is wearing Zoe, Kaleidoscope, and Georgie. Approach #1: Invent your own color scheme and choose papers that fit. For this card, we chose pastel colors. Light pinks, blues, greens, and yellows from several different paper packets all work together in this cheery card. This page is wearing Zoe, Urban, Georgie, and Kaleidoscope. Approach #2: Choose papers that are different tones of the same color and then add one or two accent colors. Here, we have all sorts of blues—Glacier, Juniper, and Peacock—accented by Pear and Gypsy papers. This layout is wearing Georgie, Kaleidoscope, and Zoe. Approach #3: Pair up different papers based on a shared color tone. In this example, we started with a paper we really liked—this Juniper one from the Georgie paper packet. The little Canary dots on our Georgie paper inspired us to pair it with the bright Canary paper from the Kaleidoscope paper packet. They make a beautiful duo, don’t they? National Stamping Month—Hello, Life!

I find myself turning to these three Hello, Life stamp sets constantly.  At first I wasn't going to get them as I didn't think they were "me"... but I am so glad I did!  They are totally ME:) and I want to use them on everything I have been creating.

I used the sentiment "Hello Sunshine" from the Hello, Life stamp set.  The inspiration and technique for the sunflower came from this YouTube video by Julie Carriere.
